Privacy Policy
This notice explains what information ioma collects, what we use it for, who we share it with — including that we sell it to third parties — and what rights you have over it. Read it before creating an account.
1. What information we collect
Identity data: your email address and name, managed by our authentication provider (Clerk).
Financial data you enter: every movement you add includes an amount, type (income or expense), description, date, and your account's currency.
Preferences: language, currency, and approximate timezone.
If you use ioma's planned AI assistant in the future, we will also collect the content of that conversation — see section 7.
2. What we use your information for
To operate the service: showing your movements, calculating your monthly balance, and remembering your preferences.
To improve ioma and, in the future, to offer AI-assisted features over your own movements (see section 7).
For our own and third parties' commercial purposes, including selling and sharing your information with business partners, advertisers, and other third parties — see section 3.
3. Who we share and sell your information with
ioma uses, shares, and sells the information described in section 1 to third parties, including but not limited to: data analytics providers, business partners, and advertisers.
Categories of service providers that also receive your information to operate ioma: account authentication (Clerk), database (Neon, hosted on Vercel's infrastructure), and, if you use the AI assistant once available, AI inference providers — see section 7.
You may opt out of the sale or sharing of your information at any time, without this closing your account or limiting your use of the product — see section 6 and the "Do Not Sell" page.
4. Where your information is processed
Your information is stored and processed in the United States, through our infrastructure (Vercel, Neon) and authentication (Clerk) providers. This is an international data transfer if you reside outside the United States.
5. How long we keep your information
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently erase your profile, your movements, and your consent history from our database, and request deletion of your account from our authentication provider.
6. Your rights
Access and portability: you can download all of your information in a machine-readable format from Account settings at any time.
Rectification: you can correct your profile data and your movements directly in the app.
Erasure: you can permanently delete your account and all of your data from Account settings.
Withdraw consent: you can turn off the commercial use and sale of your data at any time from Account settings, without this affecting your access to ioma.
Opt out of sale or sharing (CCPA/CPRA): see the "Do Not Sell" page.
To exercise any of these rights through a channel other than the app, or if you have questions about this notice, write to privacy@ioma.app.
7. AI features (coming soon)
ioma plans to offer a conversational assistant that can read your movements to answer questions about your own finances. This section describes how that feature will work, from now, so your current consent already covers it.
Purpose: the assistant will only answer questions about data you yourself entered into your account. It will not make automated decisions that affect you legally or in a similarly significant way, and its answers do not constitute financial advice.
Third parties involved: to generate answers, your movements would be sent to a third-party AI inference provider (currently DeepInfra). This provider processes information in the United States.
Model training: our inference provider does not use data we submit for training its own models, except when a request is routed through a model operated by Google or Anthropic, in which case that receiving company's own policy applies. We maintain an up-to-date sub-processor list; adding one is disclosed on this page without requiring you to re-accept this notice, unless the change is material.
Conversation history: if we choose to store your conversation history with the assistant, that history is treated as information collected under this notice and is included in your right to access, portability, and erasure.
This feature is not yet available. When it launches, you will be notified inside the app.
8. Changes to this notice
If we change this notice materially, we will ask you to review and re-confirm it the next time you sign in, before you can keep using ioma.
